Kristen Holmberg Paradiso, born and raised in northern California, is an artist and an art teacher.
She is a firm believer in using her creative gifts to help cultivate a deeper connection to the natural world. It is her deepest intention that her artwork and teachings be used as a vehicle for our collective healing through creative expression.
The imagery she creates integrates various symbolism, tales, alchemy, practices and teachings with animal, plant, and elemental Medicines.
It is through her evolving relationship with these allies that their unique qualities and lessons are shared through her work. She transcribes her visions through a variety of media such as watercolor, acrylic paint, and pyrography.
Her artwork is a vehicle for self healing as she provides visual representations of the gifts that are freely offered to us from the living elements of the natural world.
Kristen has been teaching art since 1998 and currently offers online as well as in person art classes in the Bay Area. These art classes integrate creative expression, animal medicine, and community with a ceremonial aspect rooting us more deeply to the rhythms of nature.
Kristen has also taught art at Alhambra High School in Martinez, California since 2002, where she encourages her students to discover the power of their artistic voice from the well-spring of their unique creativity.
